Andorra in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005

Andorra was represented by Marian van de Wal with the song "La mirada interior", which was chosen over two stages organized by Andorran Television. Andorra began their search for a representative with Eurocàsting 2004, which eventually narrowed down 32 competitors into only 3. Marian van de Wal, Mar Capdevila, and Ishtar Ruiz each performed two song in the final. After a tie between Marian van de Wal and Mar Capdevila, the youngest jury member selected Marian van de Wal to represent Andorra at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. On January 22, Marian van de Wal performed three candidate songs in a show hosted by Meri Picart & Josep Lluís Trabal. A combination of SMS Voting and a professional jury selected "La Mirada Interior".
Marian van de Wal is originally from the Netherlands, but by the time she was selected, she had been living six years in Aldosa in the Principality of Andorra, running a small hotel. As well as Dutch, she speaks Catalan, English, Spanish and German. Marian had entered festivals in the Netherlands and performed in different Andorran venues.
At Eurovision, Marian and her team (which included Anabel Conde who came second for Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 1995) wore green dresses, while the shirtless male dancers wore black pants and held black feathers. Everyone had simple choreography except the male dancers who moved around the stage in a more complex way.
The spokesperson who revealed Andorra's votes for other countries was Ruth Gumbau, a journalist and ATV presenter.
